Support Older Girl Groups Pt. 2: Crayon Pop

This week on Support Older Girl Groups we are supporting Crayon Pop. If you want to know why you should participate even if this week isn’t about a group you stan, check out this post.

If you are new to this project, it is a series of weekly masterposts of videos to watch to support older girl groups. Crayon Pop diffidently needs the support right now, so now it is their turn!

This is not everything from Crayon Pop, this is some videos that need the view counts to go up with the intention of boosting Crayon Pop’s popularity, and helping out older girl groups!

About The Group

Crayon Pop is a girl group under Chrome Entertainment. They debuted in 2012 with Gummi, Ellin, Soyul, Choa and Way. Recently, Soyul left the group to focus on her new family. The status of Crayon Pop as a group was very up in the air for a while, and they seemed to be facing disbandment. But very recently is was announced Crayon Pop would continue, but they would be working on their own solo activities as well.  

Crayon Pop is a very unique group. They have a very cute and silly concept, but do amazing things with it! I am yet to her a song from them that wasn’t extremely catchy. If you are having a bad day, Crayon Pop will always be there to cheer you up!

Title Tracks 

Doo Doom Chit was Crayon Pop’s latest comeback from 2016, and my personal favorite. But, sadly, was not very popular. It currently only has  1,875,951 views. Let’s get it to 2mil! Then maybe 5mil! It’s a super fun and catchy song. The group got to make a lot of the choices with this comeback, and has a different style than the other songs. But it still has that Crayon Pop brand feeling to it!

Bar Bar Bar was Crayon Pop’s comeback from 2013, and their rise to fame. It was globally very popular and their most popular song by far. It currently has  40,276,286 views. Let’s bring this song back into the spotlight and get it to 50mil! 

FM was Crayon Pop’s comeback from 2015. This song and music video are so cool! It’s a mixture of cute and hardcore in a way I haven’t really seen before. Watch it and you will be singing it until the end of time! It currently has  3,433,105 views. Let’s get it to 5mil!

Uh-Ee was Crayon Pop’s comeback from 2014. It’s super fun, unique, and catchy! The song and dance and super silly, and you will never forget about it (in a good way haha). I think the music video completes this song/concept so much. It currently has 12,225,618 views. Let’s get it to 15mil, then 20mil!

Strawberry Milk

OK was a song released by Crayon Pop’s Subunit Strawberry Milk. Strawberry Milk consists on the twins, Choa and Way. If you like cute concepts, you’ll love this. It is by far the cutest music video and song i have seen! I love this concept so much, and the lyrics are so incredibly sweet. It currently has  6,574,401 views. Let’s get it to 8mil, and the 10mil!

길 (Road) is a song Strawberry Milk did with Bear Planet (the composer of Bar Bar Bar). I just watched it for the first time and I love it so much. It is a story music video, and it is so great to see Choa and Way acting. I love the concept. Also this song really shows off Choa and Way’s vocal skills. It currently only has 156,818 views! It deserves millions! But let’s try to get it to 500,000, then 1mil! 

Other Stuff to Check Out!

This is stuff I wont be recording the view counts for, just stuff to check out if you are interested. 

Hero is a song Crayon Pop did with Kim Jang Hoon. It was for the Korean Firefighters Project, and the money it made all went to families of fallen firefighters. It’s super cute and fun to watch.

Here is the dance practice for Bar Bar Bar. I recommend checking out all of their dance practices. They are all amazing dancers! Their dances take so much energy, so if you are looking for a challenge or a good work out, Crayon Pop is for you!

Update!

So I’m going to start making Crayon Pop’s support post now and it will be up in 4.5 hours. I’m going to make it only 6 videos instead of 9 so it will be easier to considerate the views. I think that was the biggest issue with the f(x) post. But it was just the first one so that’s ok. I tho k after I make like 3 more I’ll go back and make a mini f(x) version with only like 3 or 4 on it.

Also. The f(x) support post got like 450ish notes if I remember right. So that’s pretty good. But I know that it really helped that this is an f(x) blog and more people go to the f(x) tags than Crayon Pop tags. So what I’m trying to say is, PLEASE remember to support the Crayon Pop post even if your are not a fan. ESPECIALLY if you are not a fan. Because that’s what this project is really about, getting people to be watching the videos who wouldn’t usually. And I’ve said it a lot of times before but I’ll say it again. This week may not be a group you like, but support them anyway! Because next week it could be your fave group. And we need to support all of the older girl groups together to be able to get anywhere trying to help them.

It also doesn’t hurt to keep the f(x) post in circulation. I will still be recording the views weekly.

On a final note. I will be doing the last view check for f(x)’s week in a couple hours so now is a great time to watch them as much as possible!

wOW! okay how could you even tell the twins apart?

hey! so my long answer is under the cut; my short answer is that they typically have different hair in most music videos! ( if anyone doesn’t know what this question is referring to, i recently posted gif icons of the identical twins from crayon pop )

i’ll go through each music video, if you’re someone who is a fan and genuinely wants to know, but there are some big overarking things that help distinguish them-- way is typically a rapper, and choa is crayon pop’s main vocalist, so based on what they’re doing in the song, you can usually tell which sister is which that way. after bar bar bar, all of the members had colours assigned to them; choa is red and way is orange. and, choa’s left ear is pointy? i don’t totally know how to describe it, but her left ear has a tiny kink in it, and it makes her look like a cute little elf, so when all else fails, that’s something i look for.

saturday night:

their hair is the same colour / length in this video so you have to rely mostly on their outfit and hair, since there aren’t any outfit changes in the video (there are, but no good shots of anyone but soyul in another outfit)

choa is seen with a bit of an updo and a yellow dress

while way has the braided pigtails and is wearing the starry shorts.

bar bar bar:

there are two versions of this music video-- the dance version, i believe way is blonde and they are in colour coordinated outfits for some of it, but i only made gifs of the story version.

choa’s hair is a lot shorter and darker than in saturday night, and braided into pigtails for most of the video

way’s hair is significantly longer, and her hair colour fluctuates throughout the video. i believe that’s because they didn’t take all of the shots for this video on one day, but don’t quote me on that.

dancing queen:

the same thing goes for uh-ee-- i just didn’t gif uh-ee because there weren’t great shots from it.

choa’s hair is much shorter

way is blonde

dance all night:

choa is in red and her hair appears to be like half a shade darker

way is in orange, and she has bangs

fm:

this one was a little harder because their hair was the same colour and length, but chrome made it easy on everyone and their hairstyles didn’t change much

choa is still seen in red, and she has a very big (almost obnoxious) side-pony

way is still in orange. her hairstyle is more of a little pigtail on top of her head (or, as olivie hye would put it, and ‘apple hairstyle’)

doo doom chit:

choa has sidebangs that frame her face, and in a lot of shots she has some red highlights

way has bangs.

bing bing:

i didn’t do gifs of this music video because its like 7 years old and looks like it was filmed on a potato and all of them look 12 years old, but from what i could tell, choa has more of a bob and way has pigtails. i think you’d also have to rely on choa’s ear a lot this this video too.

strawberry milk; ok:

this sucked so bad. so bad. they had the same hair and outfits for like all of it. most of it i could figure out because of choa’s ear, but in the shots like these

i really had to hope chrome put them in shirts that corresponded to their colours, because i had no way of checking my work and making sure, because you can barely see their hair and you can’t see their ears. in some of the shots, way’s hair is a few shades darker than choa’s, but most of this was just me scrubbing through the video and trying to identify choa. like at some points, it got to the point where i was looking at the colour of elastics in their hair to check which twin it was.

so yeah that’s how you can tell the twins apart in music videos, and in life in general. choa has a wonky ear, and way usually has more drastic/exciting hair changes. there are fan forums that say that their facial structure has slight differences, but honestly, i’ve never been able to see stuff like that-- this is just what i’ve relied on to tell them apart.
