Yesterday’s comfrey harvest 😍 I don’t use the flowers but they are so pretty. I gave it a good rinse and it filled the entire tub. I got 5 giant colanders full of leaves and have started the process of drying them in the dehydrator because they can’t have any moisture in them before they get infused into oil (I’ll be using grapeseed oil this time). After about 6 hours of dry time I got through one colander, and that produced one pint of crushed dried leaves. It’s a fascinating process. I got this plant as a baby years ago from my husband’s cousin. Comfrey has a long history of healing people, in Napoleon’s time they called it “knitbone” and used it to heal broken bones. About 7 years ago I fell and broke my foot and I used comfrey externally on my foot as well as taking horsetail supplements. The bone was supposed to take 10-12 weeks to heal but it was completely healed in 6. Maybe that’s coincidental and maybe it’s not. 😉❤️🌿🌱#Iloveplants #comfreyiscool #herbsareamazing (at Lewiston, Idaho) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAoTv_upLa6/?igshid=3suhi3xio4mn
