For Roy Walker, life had changed for the worst after falling off of that bridge one day under the July sun. The hospital was an unhappy place, which Roy watched as he waited for his broken legs to heal from the damage. Thoughts of things of his life before plagued him every waking second, and Roy found himself in a very dark place.
Things moved slow in the hospital, a day for example felt like many days, bleeding together. It made Roy wonder when things would end. But, there was an event that moved some of these pent up emotions, and that was the presence of someone else in room- something new.
Roy observed this visitor from the side of his bed, and when he got the chance, desperate for something new, he spoke.
"I don't think I've seen you around here before."
