“So. You’re telling me, you’ve never cooked before? Like REALLY cooked?” He asks, and tilts his head. And then he gives a snort. “MAN, you’ve been missing out!” He says, and grabs a hunk of meat, lying it on a smooth, flat slab of stone, one that he has specifically for cooking food.
Then he takes a firemaking kit he’d... acquired, from a store in town, and sets a fire to burn underneath. He’d always made sure to keep the wood down there stocked up. And then, once everything starts to cook, he adds some different kinds of berries and herbs, letting them simmer alongside and next to the meat. After a bit, he turns to meat over, so the other side can cook, and to let some of the juices from the berries soak into the meat. that was the best thing about berries, there were so many different kinds, that the flavors could mix well with just about anything!
