Fumbling with the cup of coffee in his hands, James lingered outside the corridor leading to the group therapy room. “Come on, Wyler, when have you ever been nervous to enter a room?”
But he knew the answer to that question; ever since the mask came off. “Don’t dwell on that. It’s just a room, it’s just people. Have some balls.” He took a deep breath and a gulp from his coffee and walked into the room.
There weren’t that many people in the room yet. Two people were talking in a corner, and a girl with colourful hair sat on one of the chairs set up in a circle in the middle of the room. She looked as uncomfortable as James felt, and when their eyes met, he gave her a nod, which he hoped would be reassuring. She smiled faintly and looked down again.
Just as James thought he might as well sit down next to her, so they could be uncomfortable together, a voice sounded behind him; “James Wyler! It is you! Well, that’s a surprise…”
