Francis!!! I am not impressed or won over by match point but Chimon is back on my screen and I missed him so 🥺🥺. I am looking forward to how BoatKong develop, but I really like him as a coach. His facial expressions are the best, and I am very much excited for what else he is going to do. He's fantastic at comedy. And Sing is going to match him beat for beat. (Shutting him up by shoving the Popsicle in his mouth was so funny)

I am entirely sold on Boat and Kong and the rest of the show is also there.

I think it went a bit more comedic than I tend to like but it's also a first episode and I didn't even pick up half their names by the time it ended and the complicated Bad Buddy-esque relationship between the main couple needs more development than a voiceover that didn't capture me.

But it could still work.

I'm just laughing that we're already getting 'I don't hate him' in episode 2 and already got them not wanting to bother each other and being annoyed that one is leaving in episode 1.

I am a bit worried about pacing.

But Boat and Kong were glorious. Absolutely amazing. I need more of them already.

... Yeah, this is why I genuinely don't think the show is gonna go as dark as we'd like and that the show sees Big Jane as not that bad of a person in the end. Not just because the side story didn't talk about the assault but because the entire side story interview was about how Big Jane didn't mean to put Little Jane in danger and how Big Jane almost quit for him and feels so bad that he just can't. Like... this is not Kelvin. This is someone who has his own moralities that the show might not totally agree with but definitely seems to think... isn't all that bad.

Anyway, yeah, I really wish that this interview hadn't just been about the getting shot bit but rather about the whole, you know, sexual assault thing.

Big Jane is a terrifyingly realistic depiction of an abusive relationship isolating the victim because anyone getting upset at the abuser is seen as being upset at someone 'helping the community' and an upstanding member of society because he wears a mask so good he's convinced half the fandom he's actually a good guy. It's truly amazing in a lot of ways.
