There are misunderstandings and miscommunications that I don't mind and then there are ones that are not just dragged out over multiple episodes but also include just every trauma imaginable and make everyone miserable and could be solved with the most basic conversation and just... man, I don't need another episode of Miserable Boys with Trauma Refuse to Be Cute Together Because Misery in a show that literally includes that one of them will die in the summary so like get on with the fucking romance. If you are gonna kill this man and leave his partner alone then I need more of them being happy together and less of this absolute misery.

Oh, this boy carries so much trauma. And he has done nothing with it but just keep on smiling and so he's never faced any of it and now they're both paying the price for that.

I am sobbing and screaming into the night for these two to just talk to each other. Junjia really needs to take a moment to listen instead of just believing every single rumor he hears and taking it entirely to heart. Seriously.

Having read the summary for this show I'd just to say fuck you. This show really is just gonna rip my heart out at some point.

I mean, from his actions and choices... my assumption would be that he looked as much as he could but also that he couldn't look after a certain point.

Because it was hopeless.

Building his empire was a way of giving up. It was something he could pour everything into and try to be distracted from the endless loss inside of him, the void that had been Yi Chen's love and their relationship impossible to fill.

Anyway, the show doesn't truly tell us but I suspect that Lu Feng was looking for Yi Chen for far, far longer than he'd ever admit and probably even past that. At a certain point it was just to hurt himself, just to prove that Yi Chen had moved on. Just to remind him that he was never truly loved and that the one person he gave his heart to left him without a backwards glance.

Lu Feng looked for Yi Chen but I'm not sure he really wanted to find him.
