Relieved that Kiki seemed to find his place of residence, and found comfort in her hand squeeze. Despite knowing Kiki for such little time, he certainly felt they were kindred souls.
As they sat in the Parlor, Garridan did his best to maintain view of Kiki, though he still felt hesitant to look her in the eye. Though he felt that sometime soon, he would finally be able to look her in the eyes without fear. Besides, she had expressed genuine interest in conversing with him; which was all Garridan could have asked for.
Upon hearing her state she was upset, Garridan felt a pang of worry in his chest. Did I do something wrong-? He wasn’t sure what could have made her upset, but assumed it might have been his hunger. Surely, he hadn’t offended her-? He began to pick at the skin on his hand, taking a moment to figure out what to say.
“Ah--? I’m sorry....I didn’t mean to ignore that. I thought...I thought that maybe by showing you around, it might cheer you up...” Garridan awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck, nervously smiling. It’d been a long time since he’d made a friend, and the vampire was determined to try his best.
Momentarily, the room grew silent as Garridan thought back to his maker. He recalled many memories of Viktor taking his hands into his own...Would you like to talk about it, Garridan? Hearing his voice was enough to sate whatever anger or sadness Garridan had felt. Oh, Viktor...how I long to hear your voice again. Viktor had always known how to diffuse a situation--something Garridan both envied and admired. Perhaps he could try...
“I know it might not be w-worth much, but I’m willing...to lend an ear. W-would you like to talk about it-? Ofcourse, I would respect...respect your choice if you decide against it.”
She couldn’t help but smile at him, it was lovely how kind he was being to her considering he could have just offed her at any point. She averted her gaze to the floor as she thought about his offer, she definitely didn’t want him to think her mood was his fault. So if she didn’t tell him he may keep thinking that way and then won’t want to visit the cemetery with her! Keeping her gaze on the floor she finally managed to speak up though her voice was soft. “I...I am upset because you were in pain...” her voice started to waver and she had to take a moment to regain herself. “And I ended up getting us lost...while you were struggling....” her voice cracked and she could feel the tears starting to bubble up. “I’m sorry...”
