as far as crab spiders go, the north american genus Mecaphesa is famous for its hairy appearance, but it secretly has nothing on the somewhat more obscure european Heriaeus. this H. oblongus isn't even a particularly hairy individual, but she sure stood out either way, forcing me to take a couple of really quick photos before she disappeared forever
