It's really irritating to me when people bash on me for being proud of my Canadian heritage. Like I'm sorry that I was pretty much the only member on my father's side that wasn't born in Canada. My family speaks French as fluently as English? My bad for not knowing how to speak French.. My bad for actually being proud of where I come from. My bad for wanting to move to Canada because they actually know what they are doing. I'm not Canadian enough for you? Just because I was born in America? My dual citizenship isn't Canadian enough? Just cuz I don't say eh? You know what? I'm not fucking sorry. I grew up getting picked on for being proud of being Canadian. If it offends you that I claim to be Canadian because I wasn't born there and I don't live there? Please explain to me why I can't claim my heritage but everyone around me can say they are German or Irish or whatever when they weren't born there or they don't live there.
