Something that ORV never explained was why the "Midday Tryst" item was allowed to exist. It's emphasized over and over that direct, private communication -- particularly "the written word" -- has a Plausibility cost that even the gods can't easily overcome: Kim Dokja's efforts to communicate with Dionysus and Persephone are physically-dangerous, Jang Hayoung's DM ability is a game-breaking cheat, etc.
That being the case -- what the hell is going on with "Midday Tryst"? It's an ostensibly-private text-messaging tool that anyone can buy from the Dokkaebi Bag.
There ought be a catch, and I think it's the obvious one: the messages aren't actually private. Someone is reading them. And since it doesn't seem to be the Dokkaebi, the reader is probably whoever is manufacturing the item.
My suspects:
Hermes: The obvious answer, but I think that either Yoo Sangah would have caught on or a family member would have outed him. (And in ORVSS, there are several incidents where he doesn't seem to know things he could have scraped from DMs.)
Mass Production Maker: I feel like he would be able to do this, but he seems pretty straightforward about his priorities and how much he knows. Nothing he does really implies that he has access to that kind of information.
Loki: Has a history of planting deceptive items in the Dokkaebi Bag and using them to control the buyers... but also has more-direct methods of getting information.
Surya: My preferred suspect throughout ORV. Item has "day" in its name; it's not 100% clear what his "Third Eye" actually does or how; "Midday Tryst" could easily refer to Karna's conception (the other gods were watching and he and Kunti were embarrassed); he sends exactly one Indirect Message throughout the entirety of ORV (evidence of a guilty conscience?); and Kim Dokja has this line just before Gigantomachia: "Since when had he been listening to me? Did he subscribe to Biyoo's channel?" These questions are never answered.
(This is also a matter of thematic concern to me: all of the other allied Constellations have something stupid and pathetic going on, but the only recurring joke about Surya is that he might be broke. "Hypocritical spyware dev" would be a lot funnier.)
...However, I think ORVSS has a different answer:
Mitra: Manipulative scammer sun-god with the ability to spy on all verbal conversations taking place within his "territory." Worryingly-good at telling people what they want to hear. When Protagonist's party members insult him, Protagonist remains neutral and tries to hush them -- but does not try to move the conversation to the "private" "Midday Tryst". Mitra himself is hypersensitive to the possibility of surveillance, and complains when Protagonist asks him questions requiring direct answers.
