Okay rant... Yay
So I left the reddit community for hermitcraft around a year ago now and yknow what I'm happy about it. I think reddit in general is so stressful and a breeding ground for negativity.
That being said I am however on the tiktok side of hermitcraft/life series. Well one of the tiktoks I came across recently was another of those hot take videos. Usually I just scroll past them because I'm a very very argumentative person.. However this time I pressed on thr comments. I shouldn't have. God I was just baiting myself at this point but I did. Surpsingly I wasn't mad just a little deflated and kind of over people.
So I open the comments to "Grian is always trying to be the center of attention with the EGG thing and secret society thing" we're not actually doing this are we..? Okay I've not been on the obsessively watch hermitcraft everyday grind recently so I don't know who egg is (Etho, Grian and Gem???) from what I hear they just pull pranks on others? Okay fine whatever go for it. The secret society thing was my issue though. That was from past life I think? One of the life series. Yes fucking obviously Grian was part of it! Fucking obviously! He made the series! He made the twists! It's his series! You cannot expect him to go all episode like "huh 3 randomised people are trying to kill me I sure hope there's no secret societies around psh what a twist that would be" though I do believe it when he says the other 2 were randomised.
Okay then we have the "These people all base near each other every season and hardly interact with each other" well I'm going to go ahead and assume that's 1. Because of the terrain already there its a good staring angle for what everyone wants to build, 2. Style wise peoples vibes for that season all tie in and make the transition less overwhelming this way.
"Grians builds are nothing like how they used to be!" and yknow what I don't blame him for not wanting to build as many crazy things anymore. He's what 30 something? He needs a life outside of a 90 day megabase that needs constant hours of effort. Of this is working for him who am I to judge? Not to mention that even back then when his builds were 'peak' he was still getting comments saying "I preferred previous seasons" I'm sorry but at that point I'd be like fuck it telescope as well 😭
"___ needs to post more" "____ should upload with ____ more" Okay this is everywhere too. The one I saw and was like oh okay was "Gem should record more with mumbo" so why don't they? I think it's obvious timezones and life play a part in it, one can't say "wanna record at 4pm?" well your 4pm might be my 9pm and by that point it might be too late to record. Oh and... PEOPLE IN MUMBOS TIMEZONE STILL STRUGGLE TO RECORD WITH THE MAN BECAUSE HE'S NEVER ONLINE 😭
Okay and lastly there's a bunch of people saying things like the bigger hermits (mostly just talking about Grian to be fair) don't collab enough with smaller hermits. There's people defending iskall and people just hating one and another based on just their vibes. I'm not even going to entertain those anymore than I have by putting them here
I know I just scroll past videos like these but I see them all the time and just felt like ranting for a moment...
