I knew i'd gone blind the day the red had crossed my eyes, a veil through which I was forced to see. Stuck in statue mode on a grey unfriendly road, consoling trees that mourned their leaves.

This is hardly the point. 

There's nothing worse than a regret than sitting at home wishing you tried, there's nothing worse than an excuse and I should know ive had some sad ones in my time, when our day turns grey theres nothing quite like crossing an ocean to make my home feel like its mine, well it shows when it goes away.

Thought you were strong like a lion thought you were a stable part of this put you in all the ever afters funny its the numbness that I miss thought I was built for ticking timebombs thought Id be fine once I could sleep its three days that my job gave me funny its the years you really need.

As I watched you fall theres a place for me and all where only worms and lice can see.  Id rather trust in earths clods than walk blindly with your god so I guess its the dirt for me. Cause I havent become who I thought id be when i was young so I guess Ill admit defeat.

With his mind full of tainted lovers of trivial mindsets and tiffs with the noose in the hands of his brothers he walks up to the side of the cliff. He begs for one last chance at the good life, he begs for one last chance to be saved, he begs for once last chance for his children, he knows the sea is his unmarked grave.

I promised myself this is different while watching the cars go by, promised myself its a new day, one to remember in time, promised myself this is different, promised myself things would change, promised myself its a new day but I know itll stay the same.

I havent become who I thought id be when I was young, so I guess ill admit defeat...
