“Billy! Did you see! There’s a haunted house! Lets go!” Sindren was nearly bouncing off the walls with how excited she was. He shuddered, thinking about his last haunted house experience. He must have blacked out, cause one minute he was getting yelled at by a bunch of birds, and the next, Bianca was slapping his cheeks trying to wake him up. He was terrified of spooky things, but she was too excited for him to say no. He nodded and let her lead him to the haunted house.
“I’m going to need you to protect me in there” Billy blushed, looking at his shoes. “Hehehe, last time I went to one of these I didn’t do so good”. Sindren smiled at him and grabbed his hand.
“Of course I’ll protect you! That’s what heroes do!” She said brightly, taking charge and leading them to the entrance. “Just hold onto my hand, you’ll be okay!” He nodded and gripped her hand tighter, following her into the darkness.
This haunted house seemed to be more aimed towards children, to Sindrens chagrin, she was really hoping for something scary. Billy on the other hand was clinging to her, walking so close behind her that he kept bumping into her. They wound their way through the hallways, looking for the way out, Sindren kept her head high looking for any threats before they appeared so she could shield Billy from anything that may jump out at them.
As they turned the last corner with the exit in sight, a hand crept from the shadows and firmly grabbed Billy’s shoulder. He shrieked, eyes rolling into the back of his head and he passed out. Sindren grabbed him and pulled him towards the exit where she’d be able to breathe some life back into him.
Once they were outside, Sindren laid Billy down away from the exit and gently slapped his cheek until he woke up. His eyes fluttered open and he smiled at her looking down on him.
“Oh hey! You saved me! You’re amazing!”
Sindren laughed and shook her head “I didn’t realize you were THAT jumpy, that was really fun though” He chuckled and closed his eyes.
“Glad you were with me, I would have died in there if not for you! You’re the best!!” She knew he absolutely wouldn’t have died, but appreciated the compliment all the same. Even with the childish haunted house, she had a good time.
