no no no no i love you! that was adorable and pretty spot-on. ok, here's another prompt for you (i know you said you had to leave soon so no worries if you don't answer this at all or anytime soon or anything): in this hypothetical, john murphy is living in a very, very AU in which clarke, octavia, raven, and bellamy all want him. who does he pick and why?

((WHAT THE FUCK @ME, I STARTED WRITING THIS AND THEN LEFT IT IN MY DRAFTS FOR, LIKE, A MONTH, I AM SO SORRY))

Oh man, you’re the best anon ever. In this very, very AU, I could honestly see Murphy picking each of them at different points in his life.

Like, Bellamy is the first person Murphy hooks up with, because he taunts and teases Bellamy so much that one day Bellamy takes him up on it. It’s fun and spontaneous and passionate in the moment, but with time it’s not really right for either of them. Bellamy wants to settle down and wants more stability, and the very idea of settling into a routine freaks Murphy out at this point. So they end up going their separate ways, parting on good terms. They end up being casual friends and wingmen for each other.

Octavia is who Murphy ends up with after that. Octavia needs someone who won’t flinch away from the darker parts of her, the parts that love fighting and think revenge is good. And hell, Murphy isn’t going to judge anyone for that. So Murphy is what Octavia needs, and she uses him in order to satisfy that part of her. But they’re never really ‘together’, it’s more a case of them mutually using each other. When they split, it’s not even really a thing, they just sort of realize that hey, Octavia’s moved on and you know what, so has Murphy. They needed each other in order to help accept that part of themselves, but once they do, they’re just the snarkiest of friends.

Clarke is Murphy’s attempt at “normal”. They both have their own lives, and the life that they share together. Sure, Clarke has a touch of Octavia’s darkness, but their relationship is a lot more communication that either of Murhpy’s previous ones. He tries with Clarke, he really does. They’re both trying for normal, if their being honest, and of course that leads to them not being honest. Because they only know normal from what other’s tell them, and it’s not what they actually want. They have a good run, and they both get a taste of stability from it, but when they fall apart it’s in a huge fight (because both of them are really angry at themselves for not going after what they want, but they’re not going to yell at themselves) They make up after, but they’re better off as friends. Clarke and Murphy end up consulting each other on the truly important shit, because they learned what fake honesty gets them (nothing good), so they’re brutally honest with one another after that.

Raven would be the one he finally “settles” with, although most people don’t see it as settling. I see them as having a hella open relationship. They both know by now that what they need isn’t something they can get from one person. Raven doesn’t want to give away that much of herself again, and Murphy hates the feeling of being confined. So they’re free to hook up with whoever they want to, but at the end of the day, they have each other. They get each other. Raven doesn’t take any of Murphy’s shit, and Murphy doesn’t let Raven wallow in self pity. It’s not the classic relationship setup most people expect, but for them, it’s perfect. It’s the passion of Bellamy, the unquestioning acceptance and need of Octavia, and the stability and communication of Clarke. 

All of the relationships were important to Murphy in their own ways, and each of them taught him what he really wanted. With Raven (and with his occasional bedpartners beyond her), he manages to find that.

Hey Kai! I hope your mom is doing well, and I think your idea for personalized writing is AMAZING!!! If love to start off by saying that I tell people to fight me wayyy too often, but I can't even kill spiders. I play soccer and run, but I'm also a big nerd who just wants to read all the time and write lame poetry and fall asleep in the fork of my favorite oak. Ahh hello cassie!! <3 She’s actually been doing really well! She’s being released today so my step dad is going to pick her up now :D And thank you! I really hope you like it!! (Also omg thank you you gave me so much to work with omg it was actually difficult thinking of what i wanted to do - but everyone likes a good baking snip~)

You felt your heart flutter as you looked at her. The way her brows furrowed in concentration, her hands tirelessly working the dough. She looked radiant, bathed in the sunlight of the kitchen. A small sigh released from your lips, and the only thing running through your mind was 'she's mine, she chose me, she loves me.'

"Good morning," you said. She squeaked in alarm, and whipped her head up to look at you. Placing a hand to her chest in relief.

"God, Cassie, you scared me half to death," she said. Your laughter was music to her ears.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but you were so focused I wasn't sure how else to approach," you replied, and made your way over to her. Stifling a laugh, you just then noticed the layer of flour she was covered in.

"Wow, you were really working hard!"

"Shut up, Cas. I wanted to surprise you with cookies." Frowning, she used the back of her hand to wipe away the flour on her face. You grabbed her cheeks instead and gave a light kiss on the tip of her nose. 

"How about we make cookies together then? And maybe after that, we'll go outside by the Old Oak and I'll read to you?" She hummed in response, wrapping her arms around your waist.

"I like that idea." You smiled, and softly pressed your lips against hers. This was what happiness felt like. Every touch was an electric shock, every kiss made you breathless. You looked at her like she was the sun, and she looked at you like you were the world. The love you shared was as addictive as any drug.

And you had no intention of getting sober.

thank youuuuu <3333 i had a great time! i was up in the mountain the entire last 1 and a half week. it felt so good to be in nature and just do what you feel like doing. and i really enjoyed not having to stress myself about school or tumblr or my family, it was such a liberating experience!
