Well. Not to vague a well-known tumblr in my fandom, or anything, but I just came across a post on my dash saying to "shut the fuck up about transandrophobia."

The post was from a trans man. I seriously doubt that this man thinks that he isn't oppressed for being transgender. I seriously doubt that he thinks other trans men aren't facing bigotry.

The current popular leftist opinion is that the only way to be supportive of trans women is to parrot that transandrophobia isn't real. It really shows that many people who consider themselves progressive don't actually think for themselves -- they just adopt whatever opinion other people consider the most leftist.

Please, stop. Think about the facts for a minute.

Trans women are not going to be hurt if you agree that the forcible rape and detransition of trans men is not okay. Trans women are not going to be hurt if you accept and love your trans brothers. Be better.

Treat pluralphobia the same way you would treat any other system of bigotry. Take our struggles seriously.

Just like you need to constantly unlearn your racism, your transphobia, and so on, you need to focus on constantly unlearning your pluralphobia.

Maybe systems are unimportant to you, but this is life or death for us. Integrate pluralphobia into your intersectional understanding of the world. I cannot stress enough how important it is to take systems, and the bigotry we are facing, seriously.

this thought was provoked by the fact that i thought about this one thing and it was hilarious to me, hear me out:

they never introduce themself as a Shaw (bc they think they would “dirty” the name and bring shame to it with how much they get into trouble and also they don’t like how people treat them differently just bc of their surname) so when Sam met them he thought they were just a random pack member and he didn’t find out that they themself ARE a Shaw until he had that talk with David and David called them his sibling. Sam nearly had a panic attack on the spot bc what do you MEAN??
