This is colored pencil drawing I did of Justin Veatch, a legendary friend of mine whose music was spectacular, and whose life was cut short by a heroine overdose. Check out Justin's music - his music project was called the ivoryton piano factory. Wild how powerful and on point the music of a 17 year old can be - an absolutely in touch soul, touched by the divine, but for reasons we can only speculate, Justin left this world too soon. I try to immortalize him the best I can by integrating this portrait I did of him when I can into my social media. I remember memories of Justin skating in his Chris Ross's half pipe back in high school. Somewhere, crystallized in eternity, Justin is forever skating, and feeling the wind of gravity hit his face. We can not remove memories from eternity. We can choose to not acknowledge them, or act like they're not there, or we can stay and swim and fly in those memories, fragmented adjacently to our present moment, partially here now, partially there. Some call it trauma. Maybe it's water drops of our cascading experience tangentially sliding on isolated shattered sheets of our melting ice lives, our fading existence on the ocean of infinity. Just a thought... #ivorytonpianofactory #music #heroineoverdose #drugoverdose #idontwanttoknow #letgo #freedom #absoluteself #infinity #eternity #makeitrain #radiohead #andrewkaminskiart #prismacolor #fineart #drawing https://www.instagram.com/p/BocsrijlrRC/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=zg2w9hv4ha6v
