Likely because for a split-second (or two) he actually had been caught in the vice-like grip of panic. But one can hardly blame him… Even the most seasoned superhero would have likely panicked at the prospect of having to save a large crowd of people from a (rapidly) collapsing building. Especially since he had been a little preoccupied trying to keep his visor from being shattered by the many, many projectiles aimed his way. He makes a mental note to converse with Dr. Gearloose about increasing its durability. The number of times he’s nearly been blinded by a stray shard is too high for comfort. “If anyone should be panicking-” 

“-it is YOU, foul fiend!” Tone regaining its confidence, Fenton briefly glances off to the side. The recently ‘saved’ crowd is now fleeing toward whatever cover they can find. Although, the hero doubts that any place can be truly safe during a superpowered showdown. Still, some cover is better than none… Provided that those buildings don’t succumb to the blasts of stray missiles. ‘Second note to self, fix buggy missile navigation system.’ Hands clenched and spine straightening, gaze is focused on the newest scourge of Duckburg, “Because I am about to bring down the swift hammer of justice!” Well, more of a wooden mallet… 

Cue a large mallet swinging toward the dastardly villain. { ☆ }

THIS IS IT. THIS IS THE ENCOUNTER EVERYONES BEEN WAITING FOR. RIGHT WHEN NEGADUCK IS REVEALED DRAKE JUST TAKES OUT A FIRE-HOSE & DEFEATS HIM ON-SIGHT

-  jack  has  intermittent  esotropia !  esotropia ,  usually  known  as  being  “ cross - eyed ”  is  a  form  of  strabismus  in  which  rested  eyes  will  drift  inwards  ( as  compared  to  something  like  exotropia ,  which  causes  the  eyes  to  drift  outwards. )  as  it  was  intermittent ,  it  wasn’t  present  on  a  constant  basis ,  though  is  often  present  when  he’s  daydreaming  or  bored  and  his  focus  is  elsewhere

-  going  off  of  this ,  as  a  child  and  in  his  years  as  a  business  owner ,  he  wore  corrective  lenses !  this  helped  to  alleviate  the  severity  of  his  strabismus ,  though  he’s  stopped  using  them  altogether  as  a  member  of  the  fearsome  five.  as  a  result ,  his  esotropia  has  begun  to  slightly  worsen  in  recent  years

-  jack  is  also  partly  farsighted !  his  farsightedness  is  partially  due  to  his  esotropia ,  which  lenses  had  helped  fix  prior  as  well.  though  he  can  see  fairly  well  when  both  eyes  are  pointed  at  the  same  target  at  a  distance ,  closer  objects  usually  appear  blurry  to  him  and ,  if  focused  on  long  enough ,  can  cause  dizziness  or  migraines
