I just Machmamp because it is STRONG. Gligar--- well I actually don’t know if people would clue in on it, but if you watched the anime a long time ago there was a thing called ‘GLIGARMAN’ who was a superhero with a Gligar sidekick. So yes, rather than the Heroman that Vasco likes canonically, it’s going to be GLIGARMAN in pokemon-verse lol. Hitmonchan because-- well it looks like a boxer who just may one punch out anything. His training regimen is based off the One Punch man series-- because it’s a really bad joke on the author’s part.

Arcanine to serve as a Golden Retriever equivalence. Who doesn’t love an Arcanine? Lucario because it’s got a strong sense of justice and I was reminded of that one hero movie with Sir Aaron who is ‘the hero’. Absol I chose, because people tend to be afraid of it/hate it, but it means well. It tries to help people. I felt that it suited Vasco on a personal level and that’s why it’s on the team.
