[AU] A Wild Adventure - Intergalactic Style
wild-untamed-heart:
“I’m alright, sorry to worry you.”
After handing the object over to Vasco, Kajika took a moment to massage her aching body parts. Thankfully she hadn’t twisted her ankle, or even worse plummeted over the cliff edge and broken something, but she had bumped into a couple of rocks and they were sure to leave bruises. Bruises were however preferable to being carried around because she was unable to walk.
Captain’s lucky compass…
That certainly didn’t bode well knowing how attached their Captain was to the contraption. She hoped it didn’t mean anything had happened to him, that was the last thing they that needed at this point in time.
“That seems like the most likely option.”
Honestly she would prefer a scenario where the compass slipped out of a hole in his pocket without his noticing rather than one which involved him taking a tumble of some kind. She had been lucky not to suffer any significant damage after her fall but there was no guarantee their Captain would have been so lucky.
Having stood up and dusted herself off, she waited for the navigator to join her and offered him a wry grin. Kajika appreciated him pointing out the silver lining in the situation because they truly could have wandered off searching in the wrong direction had she not spotted the compass.
“Hopefully he won’t be too much farther from here.”
…and in a decent condition.
Surprised but grateful at the considerate offer, the young engineer gladly accepted the hand offered to her and gave it a gentle squeeze in silent thanks.
“Alright, now let’s go find us a Captain~”
“No, don’t apologize for that.” Vasco, contrary to how he looked, was a very caring individual. He cared a lot for the safety of others, and he would always try to protect someone if it was in his ability. Even if it wasn’t, he’d still try, even if it meant getting hurt in the process. He wasn’t the sort to think things through, which usually landed him a few cuts and bruises, but he never minded that. He was covered in scars anyways, so what was another?
With them finding the compass, it at least meant that they were in the right direction, but the fact that the compass was without its owner was a new worry. Vasco honestly hoped that it was as simple as the compass falling out of his pocket, but he wasn’t sure if he could bet on that. If this compass was as near and dear to the heart of their Captain like he let on… would it be possible for the compass to go missing without him noticing? It was something he couldn’t help worrying over.
“We can only hope he’ll be okay.” Vasco muttered quietly, as he looked around, still avoiding looking at Kajika. It was nerve-wrecking to be holding hands with Kajika. He was a shy guy, and he had this thing called: ‘I don’t know my own strength’-itis.
He had to be careful as to not accidentally cause Kajika any more harm than her fall already dealt to her. “Yeah, let’s find him. Caaaaappttaaaaiiiin, can you hear me? Call out if you can hear me.” Vasco bellowed, hoping that the captain would hear his voice and call back. Then, they could go and rescue him, scold him, and drag him back to the ship.
