33 vials of blood surrendered and now I wait for approval from the medical board to be waitlisted at Lee Health Transplant Institute. What happens when a person wants to save a friends, neighbors, co-workers, life by donating a kidney but they don't match? Well, they can either quit the process leaving the person to wait for another potential donor (which could take YEARS) or they can participate in a paired exchange. After 3 doses of Dilaudid, 3 doses of Morphine, and 2 doses of Percocet I am still in agony from this swelling. I have started taking pictures of it to try and keep track because it sure isn't reducing in size and I think it may actually be getting even bigger. The nurse mentioned it may need to be drained and at this point because of how hard it is and the sheer size of it I think that probably should happen. I am willing to try anything that could alleviate this uncontrollable pain so I do not have to continue flooding my system with narcotic pain medication that is barely working.
