Garnet was very much glad that Jasper had decided to stay for a short while. She didn’t mind anything else, really, even when she was still taking care of her responsibilities as the leader of the Gems, these were quiet days. The Quartz had really chosen a perfect timing to come visit, for they could spend most of their time together.
And, of course, Garnet was very happy about it. Gleeful, even. Anyone that had been around her the last couple days would notice the slight but very genuine smile she could not wipe off her face. And she had no reason to, either.
Jasper had been wonderful to her. The cake, the compliments, how sweet she was to Ruby and Sapphire, even if she didn’t seem completely comfortable with it. How comfortable she was with Garnet herself, too. The fusion would have never imagined anything like this, much less with Jasper out of all people, yet here she was, practically cuddling her after a night of stargazing.
The Crystal Gem did not react to anything until the Sun had not only started to rise, but also made it somewhat higher on the horizon. She didn’t know exactly what time it was, but she knew that there would be someone waiting for them soon enough.
Slowly, she sat up, her hand looking for the Quartz’s as she looked down at the other. “Jasper?”, she whispered softly, wondering if she was paying attention or was lost in her own thoughts.
Pearl was brought to her owner by two Quartz soldiers. She did her best to stay completely poised and silent to not upset or disapoint her diamond. She bowed to her. “My Diamond I promise to serve you the best I can.”
Garnet had been waiting for this for a couple days now. Now that she didn’t enjoy the break, being away from home for a short while, but there were matters that she had to take care of. Most of them related to Sunstone. She had caused more trouble then she was worth.
If she hadn’t hunted her down to make her atone for her mistakes yet, it was because she was in a great mood, for many reasons. Two of the main ones were Chef Shark and Pink.
About her adventures with the other timeline’s Jasper, well. Thinking about it all again lifted her mood again. It had been all so silly and fun that she had no other words to describe it.
About Pink... She had really come to trust the Diamond. At the very beginning, the concept of Pink Diamond being alive and well was terrifying, but now, the concept of her not being around was a lot more negative than it would ever have been before.
Here she was, walking towards the Warp that would lead her closest to Pink Power Lake. Lucky enough, it was far away from society that Pink could meet her there. With everything that had happened lately, and how the Diamond had been ‘for science-ing’ with her powers, a lot of progress had been made. 18 feet was definitely small enough that she could fit on the Warp Pad.
And thus, she was coming to get the other, so they could warp to the Gamma Kindergarden. They would get to undo so much of the malice that happened there, and Garnet had decided to bring Pink along. After all, she had been the one to tell her about Sunstone’s intentions of reactivating it. That would not be allowed. Most of the control room was intact, and the injectors themselves were not in the worst condition.
If it weren’t because she was alone and didn’t have any instructions, Sunstone could have reactivated them already, which was a disturbing thought. This planet did not deserve any more harm, and especially not because of Gems. They had already done more than enough.
Finally, she activated the Warp Pad, the teal light enveloping her for a second, as she stood there, her right hand on her hip. It wasn’t more than a couple seconds before she had arrived to the other Pad.
