HE CAN EMPATHIZE WITH HER PLIGHT, but then again, just about anyone in their lives could. when you’re born into fire, it’s impossible not to get burned by the flames. at some point. and as x-men, they’ve been burned far too many times to count --dead partners, self sacrifice, burying friends...it weighs heavy on his heart most days. it always has.
and kitty is someone he’s known since she was a child, watched her grow up from wide-eyed hopeful kid to the strong, confident woman she is today. but he can also see the scars this life has left her with.
