Heterogenesis - Sept (Antu Records) by Heterogenesis
Heterogenesis Live @ Halkidiki Festival
I am very fond of this short article, and it motivates me to pick up some of Guattari's work that was not part of his collaboration with philosopher Gilles Deleuze. The author of these notes states, "Heterogenesis is a process of continuous resingularisation – individual and collective subjectivies ‘pull out’ without a thought for collective aims, for creative expression. Resingularisation means that individuals, organisations and professions become more united and increasingly different – difference multiplies – and creatively autonomous." and I find it a very subtle part of Guattari's overarching intention of looking for solutions amidst a range of creative singularities, rather than overbearing homogenous forms. Various forms of value and terms of contribution, varying routines and fabrics, and a less restricted bureaucratic framework would send the individual into a pursuit of their own self-management and the development of their own mental ecology, socius, and the creation of miniature ecosystems around them and their pursuits. Think of a capitalism of dynamic value rather than of stable value, a capitalism whose avenues and circuitous behaviours were shifted in favor of a heavy flux that maintained it in an unsteady but self-maintaining equilibrium. Finally, a quote from Guattari: “Rather than remaining subject, in periphery, to the seductive efficiency of economy competition, we must reappropriate Universes of value, so that processes of singularisation can rediscover their consistency. We need new social and aesthetic practices, new practices of the Self in relation to the other, to the foreign, the strange – a whole programme that seems far removed from current concerns. And yet, ultimately, we will only escape from the major crises of our era through the articulation of
A nascent subjectivity
A constantly mutating socius
An environment in the process of being reinvented” (p 45)
Heterogenesis - Awakening to Reality
Hi, this is a random question, but a friend and I had conversation about your story Heterogenesis. It provoked some really interesting conversation about ethics of the fake study as well as just changing something that is an inherent part of you. I wonder if you would be willing to, could you talk about your motivations/inspirations/thoughts for writing the piece? Best, - A
Thank you so much for asking! I love random questions, and I love talking about the bits of my writing I love the best. My first thought was, of course, why don't I see what I wrote for the author's notes and go from there! ...But there were no author's notes, for reasons I can't fully recall; I had barely any commentary on the super-locked posts I always do to my journal itself (mostly to make sure that the formatting is right and the story fits). So! I meant to write just a couple thoughts on how and why I wrote Heterogenesis, which is still probably the best thing I've ever done for s2b2 ... but then I went and wrote 1500. Thus, to avoid tl;dr-ing everyone who follows this tumblr, if you're interested in the full answer to this question, please check out Heterogenesis, three years later.
Gnar.
Took a hit of some of "that shit from Danny" last night. (danny is a fairly good homie that regularly hooks up test-chemical psychedelics such as 2ce, 2ci, these were on solid blotters with the tiniest speck of concentrated... I still don't know the full name) and once that was worn off followed with 25 mg of pure 2ce in a cap. That's the most I've ever taken at once (up to like ~15mg?) And that was honestly the GNARLIEST trip I've ever had in my entire life. I did get some time in for a bit of introspective though :) please recall heterogenesis. I'm not referring to the idea that organisms arose out of inanimate matter spontaneously, but to the idea that matter is simply made up of thought, for if there is a "god" we can only exist within him, thought being the only pure form of creation that I know to exist.
