Honestly, one of the best ways to overcome trauma, whatever it may be, is to serve other people. Taking care of others (in a healthy manner) helps you take care of yourself. Yona helps one person/group after another, and with each instance, she becomes stronger and more capable in her own right. She persevered and overcame and is a survivor.
