♔ : Everyone’s world is black and white until you meet your soulmate, who brings color with them
SEND A SYMBOL FOR A SOULMATE AU OR SEND ‘SOULMATE’ FOR A RANDOMLY GENERATED ONE.
The grass is green. The sky is blue. The sun is yellow.
Those sentences were only a distant notion for Gaeul whose world was painted white and black while passing by different shades of grey. Colors, though, were something she only had read in books or heard by the lucky people who had encountered with their soul mates. Gaeul wondered if she’d have this chance, one day.
That was their world. From the moment they were born until they met with their other half, the world was empty of any color and it was a bit like watching a movie from an old time Gaeul had heard about, when televisions didn’t have the color. Now, it was like their eyes were old screens, unable to receive color until they met the right fit that would bring color to their world.
Sometimes, some were lucky and met their soul mate at a young age which brought them the possibility of witnessing many seasons, many scenery in all of their beauty. And others had to wait for a long, long time. Some never met their soul mates and would remain in a colorless world; Gaeul felt terribly sad for them even if she knew that it could very possibly happen to her as well.
She hadn’t lost hope, she was only twenty-five years old after all. But she was getting impatient both to see the world as it really was and to see who was that person who would be her half, her perfect fit. She knew about platonic soul mate, about romantic soul mate, she had read it all in books and she wondered what was awaiting for her.
A raindrop fell on the cover of her book, startling the young woman out of her reverie and making her look up curiously at the grey sky. She had wondered many times if even the grey looked differently once she would be able to see the colors. But she couldn’t think much more as rain started to pour down and while she was stuffing her book into her bag - her mother had told her it was brown but Gaeul could only imagine what brown could look like; she had no clue - she stood up and ran over to the closest shelter which happened to be a music store.
She wasn’t the only one there and she sneaked her way in until she wasn’t feeling like she was suffocating because of the sudden crowd. With a deep sigh ( that she might have exaggerated just slighty ) she leaned against the counter and distracted herself by looking at an advertisement for a concert when a voice greeted her, making Gaeul look up curiously.
One small second for Gaeul’s colorless world to turn into an explosion of colors but she didn’t know them. She couldn’t name them because she didn’t know if the hair of the woman - her soulmate - were a blue or a yellow ( she thought yellow, it reminded her of the bright white when she looked at the sun ) and she didn’t know if she should call the color of her lips red or purple. But she was going to learn that.
“Hi.” She breathed out, her face feeling warm. The other, her other half, her soul mate smiled.
“Hi.” She replied, leaning against the counter with her arms crossed on top of it. “Took you long enough.”
