Can I speak freely for a second? I think a lot of us are out here looking for failed relationships. We are chasing the people that are destined to break our hearts and send us into depression. So what is the problem? The problem is we are giving our time to the people we THINK we want and not the people we TRULY want. Loneliness causes us to settle. We go through periods where we are alone for so long that we try to find something attractive about anyone who seems to give us time and attention. That doesn't make us weak or desperate, it simply makes us human. But settling for someone we truly don't want will never make us happy. We see the signs early on but we ignore them. They are aggressive. They are jealous. They are ignorant. They are untrustworthy. But we deal with them anyway because being alone seems far worse than being with someone...anyone. But the person that can truly make you happy is out there. But this person is decent. They are not going to approach you or get involved with you if you are already taken. They will not be in a relationship and say that they will leave their partner for you. They will be single. They will be waiting for someone like you to come along. And when they find you... you are in trouble! So stop settling for the person you think you want. You already know it's not going to work out. As believers, we should LONG for our Savior, day and night. Personally, I struggle in this area. When life seems to be going well, I want the control and the credit.
