When viewing this amazing ready-made sculpture created by British-Guyanese Artist Hew Locke, I can’t help but feel the energy and emphasis of prayer or religion. Viewing the sculpture feels very much like viewing sculptures from inside a South-East Asian Buddhist temple and the plastic trinkets/ decor bring the nostalgia of various Holidays. The figure/Locke is also sitting in an archetypical fashion of royalty. Emitted is an erie feeling of mystery filled with wonder and awe through the use of bright colors such as the yellows, golds, reds and greens. This photo / sculpture art is very rich and psychologically interesting.
