We had a Star Wars drought for ages wherein my grubby little gay hands had to rub themselves all over EU materials (which are still wonderful and good and I love them don’t get me wrong) and now that we’re getting delicious wholesome ladles full of gooey Official goodness I’m supposed to turn up my nose???? Why????? Because it’s “popular :(”?

I get that people are afraid of “oversaturation” or whatever but friendos there has never NOT been Star Wars since its inception. There have always been fans and toys and costumes and now we have active production of media to go with it instead of just the EU and nostalgia of What Came Before, and so far the new content has been Pretty Damn Good, so you’ll have to excuse my confusion at why everyone is suddenly all “please we don’t want any more” when a year ago everyone would have been creaming their various undergarments at this news, but now we’ve gotta pretend we’re too good for it just like the stuffy fans that will only watch the Original Cut of the Original Trilogy for Purity Reasons that we make fun of

“But it’s just pop culture now!” Star Wars has been part of pop culture for ages--maybe even since it started, you fucking dweeb.
