He really had no excuse to be here in the Nightmare King’s lair, but Jack was worried, he hadn’t seen Pitch around in a while. So really it was the winter spirit’s own fault that he was being backed against a wall by nightmares, staff held defensively over his chest. “Pitch! Call your glorified attack dogs off will you?!”

The sky was dark, thought it was likely a cloudless night, even more the moon hid somewhere beyond, trying to see past the chaos. 

Thousands upon thousands of fearlings swarmed the skies, whispering and hissing and diving down to terrorize the panicked children, who had at first heard rumours, then seen proof of children disappearing in the night.

It was the apocalypse, the new dark ages, and Pitch was seemingly unstoppable.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Pitch Black, Nightmare King, hummed. Sipping his tea as he watched fearlings leave and enter the lair, bringing in children, bringing in fear.

The masked former Maharaja pulled Toothiana forward by her bound hands. A precaution to keep him from more scratches when she attacked. The girl baring her hands like claws more than once at her captor. Her wings stood tall with the harness secured at their base, a proud display as she was delivered to her new owner. A word that would never leave her own lips. Tooth would never admit such a defeat. And perhaps she wouldn’t have to. As far as she knew, this new man was no hunter, which means he would be no tracker, and she could try all her escape plots anew. With hopefully more success.

The leash, the word hissed in her mind, was passed over in exchange for the agreed fortune, a gleeful Monkey King collecting his spoils. A fine price for the last of the Sisters of Flight. Treasures that the others who were promised to partake in would no doubt never see. The greed clear as the sky in the Monkey’s eyes. Toothiana didn’t even turn to watch him and his horde leave. Her eyes forward, while also avoiding the face of the man holding her binds. Perhaps it would have been seen as fear, if her chin wasn’t proudly raised.

Fey gave the nightmare king a cold glare, and walked over to him. “Don’t call me that” the red head growled. She hated that she had to obey him, at least for now. But she dispised him calling her pet or giving her a pet name even more.

Pitch rolled his eyes, “No I shall now” the boogieman said with a scoff.

Pitch observed the girl. He never really spoke to humans. But he was desperate for any kind of social recognition. Though he would never admit it to anyone. “Hello?” He called softly. Expecting the girl to walk through him like everyone else. ------- Chris flinched and looked around her. She didn't really expect for anyone else to be out this late at night. "H-hello?" She called right back to whoever was talking. To be honest she was a bit scared. She had seen horror movies that start out just like this.... @hexgurl1999
