❝ YOU'RE NOT SCARED OF ME ? good, 'cause i'm not scared of you, either, ❞ bucky says matter-of-factly, a 𝙲𝙷𝙰𝙻𝙻𝙴𝙽𝙶𝙴 in the way his chin tips up, as if proud of the fact. he knows full well what wanda is capable of ― he's heard about westview, he knows all about her powers & her past. the thing is, despite it all he still believes in her 𝙶𝙾𝙾𝙳𝙽𝙴𝚂𝚂, in the part of her heart which still longs for human connection. he knows this because he feels it himself ; they are incredibly similar in so many ways, especially in this.

it's part of what helps him 𝚄𝙽𝙳𝙴𝚁𝚂𝚃𝙰𝙽𝙳, even if he hasn't gone through her particular situation. the sergeant takes a step closer, but doesn't quite cross the border of personal space, ever-respectful & giving wanda the opportunity to move away if she so wishes. ❝ i've 𝙽𝙴𝚅𝙴𝚁 been scared of you, & that isn't going to change, no matter what happens. i could only hope that someone would do the same for me one day. ❞

tandy has been in the custody of the avengers for almost six months, and she's clearly chafing against the boundaries placed upon her.

"this one doesn't sound like a big problem. can't I just tag along and see if I can help?"

GRACIOUS SMILE COMES to lips & the endless looks serene as they answer her question, knowing that her curiosity is innocent, & not meant to be malicious. others may be frightened by wanda maximoff, the red witch, but chaos of the endless knows her better than most, & they know her not to be a threat. not at this very moment, anyway, not when she seeks answers from them. chaos gives her a little knowing look, as if she could decipher it, & then takes a deliberate step closer, now edging into the witch's personal space. they don't venture far, lingering on the outskirts, enjoying her presence around them. ❝ you've seen me many times throughout your life, wanda. now more than most others. what does that bring to mind, for you ? ❞ their tone is soft & kind. they don't want to push ― only to gently motivate.

❝ IS THAT WHY YOU'RE here, wanda maximoff ? ❞ the king of dreams' voice remains aloof & distant, though there is a sharp look in their dark gaze, as if they're rethinking their decision to not treat her as a threat. ❝ to destroy us ? to make us come undone, to learn our secrets & then to discard us ? ❞ lithe painted fingertips tap restlessly along the edges of their throne, & the air has a slight electricity to it, a warning. she's in their territory, in the middle of their palace in the Dreaming. if she chooses to turn against him here, there will be consequences, the likes of which Dream is sure she can guess at. ❝ answer us. why did you come ? ❞

"Why do you come when you know I don't sleep? I haven't slept in two weeks, and you can't make me." She pointed an elongated and thin index finger at Dream with a cigarette clenched between her other fingers. They have tried to make her sleep but have been unsuccessful numerous times as she reinvigorates herself with more chaos. (For Dream!)

DARK GAZE LIKE AN ABYSS meets hers evenly, not disturbed by her adamant statement, though she targets them explicitly with it. were they in a worse mood, they might have taken issue with it ― but as it stands now, they have some room for patience, & they exercise it liberally while in her presence. the energy of chaos is loud in the room, reminding them of their sibling's creation; they wonder if wanda & chaos would get along. finally, Dream holds hands up, in a gesture that they won't intercede without her permission. ❝ we're not here to make you sleep. that, it seems, has failed. we're here to keep you company . . . if that is what you wish. otherwise, we can leave you to your devices. ❞
