I'm honestly at a loss for words

So I just lost my best friend over some pathetic bullshit. And I don't really know which one of us is fully in the wrong or what. We were engaged, then she broke it off for a logical reason. We continued to date until quite recently when we decided that the distance was too far for us. So after trying and failing to be just friends last night, I decided to ask for some of the bedroom items back that we hardly ever used. I don't have much money and it saves on what I would like to utilize. I told her originally to keep all that stuff because I wouldn't need it any time soon and because I bought it for us. But now us will never be again and I'm finding someone new in order to be hppy again. I know I fucked up, but would you throw away your best friend over this? The one person you gave two years of your life to? I don't understand. Maybe I'm just that stupid.
