It could…I don't know much about the elements that make up the Moon's crust tbh. But if the cooling effected these elements, like it does with rocks on Earth, then one side could end up being more susceptible to damage than the other; in this case, the side facing us. Because the other side is thicker and sturdier so when it gets impacted, bits of rock wouldn't break off? But it might with the side facing us?
it has similar composition to the earth, like theres granite and stuffi guess that is a possibility that one side is far more susceptible to damagethe dark markings we see on the moon are the result of lava flows which most likely occurred after an impact, we see much less of this on the further side, most likely due the the thicker crust, but wouldnt the lava create a thicker crust on the face since that is where all the historical geological activity took place?the far side is much sturdier that is true but why is that
