It makes me feel really good when people ask my opinions and headcanons for Cyborg 009 but I just want you all to know that I wouldn't even be in this fandom if it wasn't for Lysoke. She's really awesome and super into it and her enthusiasm is what's contagious and keeps me fueled.

So.

You all should appreciate her too because she's gorgeous and brilliant and amazing.

Goopy gushy introspection about my relationship here so feel free to ignore

Today is my six month anniversary with Lysoke and I really don't think I've ever been happier.

I have relatively little experience with relationships. Before Ly, I had one 3 year thing with someone that should have ended after 1 year. He didn't listen or respect me, but nor I him, and I held on for so long because he was my first real relationship. He held on for so long because he's terrified of the break-up talk. It was a mess, I just didn't see it at the time, but in hindsight I was unhappy more often than not.

Lysoke is different.

I know everyone says that about their current SO but y'know, everyone is different. People are unique. And even then I was very wary when we got together. It had been over three years since I'd dated anyone and I was nervous to even have feelings for someone else. The long distance was frightening. The fact that she's a girl and I'd never dated a girl before was less so, but still new. What if I was't right for her? What if I was rushing into things? What if what if what if...

But we flirted our way into a relationship somehow anyway. And we actually talked about it. About our expectations and hopes. What a novel concept, to make sure you're on the same page at the beginning. It put so many of my fears at ease right off the bat and I will always be continually grateful simply for Ly's willingness to talk about any problems we might have instead of letting them fester and grow into some foreboding beast that threatens to rip our little ship apart and sink it.

She actually listens to me, too. This is completely new. I have friends who listen, yes, but family and my ex? Listening has never been much of a thing. But she does. And she remembers what I've said. I never thought I'd appreciate such small things so much but it isn't so small to me.

There are little things that I love though. Late-night skype chats, little sweet (or sexy) texts at work, sharing hopes and dreams for the future no matter the size of the dream. Spamming each other with cute things off tumblr just to hear the other person squeak or see them keymash. 

It's cliche, but I never thought I could love someone so much, so fast. That's not to say everything is perfect, but whatever problems we have or are on the horizon, I'm not afraid. We'll face them together, weather them together, and come out stronger. Together.

A lot of the time she compares us to Bernard and Rose from LOST. So here's a quote from the same that sums it up.

...I met you. And we just fell into a rhythm, like we've known each other forever. I know it's crazy.

But it's wonderful and beautiful and I can't imagine my life without her anymore.

Hopefully I'll never have to find out what that would be like.

I love you, Ly. Don't you ever forget it.
