guests are welcome, but they are not expected. she didn’t stumble upon a house in the middle of nowhere and decide to call it home because the infrastructure happened to be particularly fascinating to her. it was the endlessness of expanse; serene and quiet. she used to spend each night asking the moon where it is she belonged without her purpose. now each morning she looks out the window and the land tells her one thing: right here.
it’s how she sees vidya coming. the sun rises just high enough in the sky to illuminate the world. she nurses a cup of coffee, takes a breath, thinks she should have anticipated this, @bhavidya‘s presence. oh, but even ajak knows there was no way of telling when she would arrive. things are never quite the same on earth. it both intrigues and worries her as she takes to the porch in time to greet the other. ❝ you’ve made a long journey, ❞ are the first words to leave her lips. she knows because despite keeping her distance, she’s kept track of them all. she gestures to the door, gentleness reflecting in her eyes. ❝ come inside, vidya. ❞
