It wasn't often that Nicky got reminded of her status on the bottom of Hamilton Hill High School's foodchain- being a cheerleader and cute and perky meant that she rarely if ever had to deal with it, even if her older brother was considered a major dork by most of the school (then again, her brother was also the only reason a lot of jocks were even passing their classes).
Unfortunately, that just meant when it did happen, it was even worse. Sometimes, Nicky wondered why everyone in Gotham seemed to be born with an innate fear or hatred of clowns. Then she remembered these idiots and wished that it wasn't such a taboo to be a metahuman because she wanted to zap these jerks so badly. As it was, she just tried to ignore the wolf whistles and catcalls as she stiffly walked down the street. "C'mon, sweetheart, shake those pompoms for us!" One of the clowns hooted. Nicky's fists clenched tightly around the sparks dancing between her fingers. Just a little further and she'd be at the bus stop and then it'd be-
