BAM! QUESTION! Does Ronnie also go by Rook in your headcanons? If so, how did he receive the nickname? Did he get it from Varric or is there some other story??

I've spent like a week racking my brain for something fun here, but I must admit defeat and say it's just Varric's usual nonsense at play 🙈

I'm sure there's a clever chess reference here or something, but I don't know fuck all about chess so it is what it is

He does go by Rook though, as Varric kept introducing him that way, and he just went with it bc why the hell not. Once it becomes clear he'll be spending a lot of time with someone he usually re-introduces himself as Ronnie, as he sees Rook as more of an alias than a name.

This is Juniper! They're an elf (not dalish and not city but a secret third thing (farming village)), a mage, and a Grey Warden of the "throw myself off a cliff for The Cause™ first, think about what the fuck I'm actually doing later" variety. They're 30-ish years old and have been with the Wardens for almost a decade, but most of that was just working for them (stablehand? cook? I haven't decided yet lol). They got some training and finally went through the Joining about 3 years prior to DAV. They're stubborn and impulsive, constantly looking out for "the little guy", they're idealistic in the "I can save everyone and I will" sense but also quick to judge and not much of a believer in second chances/redemption from evil. They've been on a Gender Journey for most of their life and they're still not quite where they wanna be, but they're getting there. They're also quite preoccupied with the here and now and try to live each day as if they might die tomorrow (though they're terrified of that possibility), they don't see much point in lingering on the past and they get anxious about the future. Apparently has a thing for older men because Emmrich made them feel weak in the knees from day 1 😂

How did an elven mage end up in a farming village without the Templars sniffing them out? Did their family hide them or?

Ava's scarf used to belong to her mother, but when her mother got gravely ill one winter a couple of years prior to DAI Ava took the scarf from her parents' aravel and wore it everywhere, even to bed, for weeks. When her mother got back on her feet Ava had a hard time giving the scarf back and her mother let her keep it. She now wears it for good luck and almost feels naked without it.

artaius has never met his parents, seeing as he was left in one of the lavellan aravels as an infant. deep down it bothers him, and he wonders what they were like, what they looked like. he realizes it's asinine to want to know, seeing as those people left a baby, not even a month old, with a clan of dalish elves. but it doesn't stop him from wondering.

Ava really liked drawing and painting when she was younger and for a while she would cover every surface she could get her hands on in strange, 10-year old-fantasy world art. She ruined one of her mother's skirts once and felt bad about it for a very long time, but later learned that her mother had kept the skirt and often took it out when Ava had to be away for long periods of time.

Clearwater was always an accomplished musician--when she first got her fingers on a lute, her parents thought that perhaps, finally, their wild daughter had found a beautiful, respectable hobby that they could brag about to the other nobility and future suitors. They weren't so pleased when the first songs Clearwater performed were all lewd tavern reels and common folk songs. Not that their disapproval ever stopped her own enjoyment of her talent, and it served her well as a prostitute and traveling minstrel.
