heybass replied to your post: I have an idea for a story but it’s just a rip-off...
good artists “rip off” other artists all the time
Heck I know, I do it often, but in writing it's a little harder to get by since it's a more level playing field (ie you have 26 characters a handful of punctuation and an acceptable format so you gotta work within the structure not despite it).
But I'll tell you the story idea since you seem to be interested
It's about a near future where Monsters (a catchall for all kinds of spooky, monstrous creatures) and Machines (the catchall for androids, robots and cyborgs) both created their own revolutions and either you sided with one of them, or you got shafted by life. Monsters have the east coast, and Machines the west, so humans who were too scared to assimilate are dumped in the middle living a pretty lame existence as hunter-gatherers, stripped of most all technology and innovation.
The main character is a girl named Holly who is living in one of these hunter-gatherer human settlements when she develops some form of cancer, which is now uncommon due to humans living in the veritable wilderness (and cancer really getting its start in the Industrial Revolution), and she's got a month or so to live, unless she can successfully assimilate into one of the cultures - Monsters or Machines - who might be inclined to heal her.
Monsters have magic and stuff, which works to some extent on humans, but if she is favored enough to be turned, the transformation should heal her since it wipes your body to an extent. But then she's a monster forever.
The Machines have really advanced technology that could definitely cure cancer, and they could even turn her into a cyborg, but again then she's beholden to them.
The problem is that Monsters see humans as their herds of domesticated animals, totally expendable, and the humans who can survive in the Monster-controlled cities are those that fill an exotic niche (you can imagine (especially you Bass) that prostitutes are really favored here.) If you're not special enough, the Monsters will probably eat you or turn you into some sort of life/blood/soul dispenser. And the Machines see humans as a collection of body parts and muscles that they can experiment on and excise and give to others or use for their own benefit. Humans are just fleshy vessels, unlike the Machines which are perfect vessels capable of immortality an junk.
I think initially Holly goes to the Monsters. But I've come up with nothing else.
heybass replied to your post: Something’s wrong with my SAI selection tool…...
did you somehow accidentally turn off anti-aliasing or lower the tolerance value on it? idk if those exist in sai but that’s how it works in photoshop and you said it was happening there too, so„„
Yeah, Anti-aliasing was on but it didn't make much of a difference. As for tolerance I think SAI doesn't have that option but I'll see how it works out in photoshop.
