in the image you added to the tide pods/air pods post, what are the two additional things you put on there?
I googled firepods and earthpods.
Firepods are a brand of audio mixer and Earthpods are a brand of miniature homes, apparently.

oh my god. PLEASE tell us about your yakuza!yusuke AU??? btw yyh is the best goddamn anime of all time
ok, SO. listen up @heyitschaexx.
The basic premiss is to imagine if the events of the series were to happen 10 years later than they do in canon, Yusuke would have dropped out of school and likely become a Yakuza…second Lieutenant?? Likely not an overly high position just due to Yusuke’s nature of being a lone wolf unless there are people loves and respects. But maybe he HAS formed strong and meaningful bonds within the Yakuza, I don’t really know what works better? He does need to be discontent enough to break from a pattern of bad behavior though.
One of Spirit World’s “things” in the beginning of the series was that they hadn’t expected Yusuke to risk his life for a stupid kid, or probably even pay attention enough to notice something going wrong. So he needs to die in a way that would be deemed “out of character”. The boring choice is to stick with the original version. I’m tempted to have him die for something that went against the Yakuza. Doing some research into some of the moral codes that Yakuza members abide would be necessary here, but it could always boil down to a misunderstanding and accident still, but with a slice of disobedience.
So he dies.
His mom would likely still be slob/mess, but still distraught. Keiko would still be friends with Yusuke, aware of what he is and does. They would likely have fights about it on a number of occasions. He actually got her parent’s restaurant protection from his gang, but didn’t tell them that. Could play in later in the story.
Kuwabara is a little harder, he definitely is in college at this point, or finishing it. Maybe being concentrated on schooling was distracting enough for his powers to pause on developing or he got some training. (The first spirit-detective lady would be my go to on teacher front if that’s the case….) Maybe he was involved with the thing that got Yusuke killed. I don’t imagine they kept up much after Yusuke likely dropped out school, and giving Kuwabara a motive to feel guilty and be around for Yusuke’s revival would be good. (they need to be bffs ok...or kiss)
Yada yada yada, the rest of the events are similar but told through the lense of this different background. A lot of canon!Yusuke’s character arc is about coming to terms with the fact that while he has done horrible things, he’s not as awful as he acts or is made out to be. Every one of the big bad’s he faces mirror him in some way, saying: you will become this. And he fights to not become a monster. Even when his demon heritage comes into play.
So Yakuza!Yusuke’s main arc would likely be in some form trying to reclaim the humanity he lost in his line of work. In terms of apathy, Yusuke would already be half-way to being Toguro, just with out the power craze.
The one other thing I might change is having Kurama remain a teenager. I think the perceived age dynamic could be fun between the characters and I don’t want to have killed off his mom or have him in his twenties because he hasn’t had his character arc so much yet and it was kinda important to his age if I recall? Maybe I’m making shit up.
Also, nothing has to change for Hiei. Maybe he’ll like Yusuke’s tattoos.
I dunno, i think a fic like this could be really fun for messing with character dynamics and the idea of recovery and redemption rather than trying not to become a bad person.
thoughts?
everything ok up at pbnt today?? I'm a pretty new fan so I've never seen eps not come up at exactly 11am, hope it doesn't mean anything bad!
Today’s episode had some technical difficulties, so Alex will be fixing it and re-uploading it later tonight
I think you would definitely have dark green blood like kanaya. Your tumblr persona seems very cool, poised and collected.
Thank you.
Hi I just wanted to tell you I absolutely LOVE your recent harvest moon playthrough on PBnT even though there are only five episodes!! I sometimes do the "its a widdle puppy. his name is Rover" to myself in the baby voice and I think Borio's voice is the funniest thing ever. Anyway I know it'll be a couple months wait but I'm super excited to see more!!
hey, glad you enjoyed it. Anne Marie and I use the baby voice ALL the time, and I call every dog I see Rover. I love Rovers.
you can watch our Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life playthrough here
I saw your tag on the wreck-it-Ralph gif set! Just wondering, what didn’t you like about the second movie? I have a feeling I might agree!
Oh boy, there's a LOT to say about it but it essentially boils down to the fact that Wreck-It-Ralph didn't NEED a sequel in the first place because it ended on a high note and the story felt complete.
Here are the (non-spoiler) details under the cut.
If you were to ask ANY person who watched Wreck-It-Ralph 2 what the movie was about, I can guarantee they would not be able to give you a straight answer. The movie was ALL OVER THE PLACE in terms of plot and writing; it had a LOT to say and self-referential jokes to crack, but they didn't know where to put it or how to even begin organizing it. The movie begins with one plot thread, then stuff happens and introduces another plot thread, and then the second plot thread that gets a climax and resolution while the original premise is like ??? The movie felt poorly planned in general and disjointed at times.
I SHOULD point out that the visuals and animation quality were excellent, which is par for the course for a Disney animated film, but the animators and storyboarders still deserve some merit. Unless we're talking those weird direct-to-DVD sequels, the flaws and issues with Disney animated movies lie mostly in the script and writing. The message (or messages??) was also nice enough, I think it's a good message some people need to hear, but the way it got there was just so bizarre.
The idea of having Wreck-It-Ralph 2 be about the internet in general (not online games, which would've made WAY more sense) was a pretty weird choice, which could've possibly been executed fine I guess, but it was so easy to fuck it up and they absolutely did. Especially when it spent SO LONG on the self-referential internet humor that they fucked up the pacing and just haphazardly slapped the plots together to not have the movie be like 3 hours long.
But the biggest issue about this movie (which is also related to making it about The Internet rather than videogames) is that it essentially tore up what the original movie was about. The change in themes was absolute: instead of it being a movie about videogame characters, it was a movie about characters and then videogames are sorta involved. The main message in the first movie was that despite Ralph being "a villain" who was clumsy and prone to anger, he was still a good guy who was liked by others. And then in the second movie they had to make him a villain again, sorta?? Vanellope also went from a character that accepted who she was, into a character that was insecure and unsure about where she belonged??? This is what I meant when I said "it took a huge shit on the first movie", because by adding to Ralph's and Vanellope's characters, the ending to the first movie feels less satisfying. And for what, exactly? A messy plot, a less satisfying ending, and "internet humor" that'll be outdated in two years? Thanks.
Anyway, Wreck-It-Ralph 2 was bad.
