"I know we're only suppose to carry the essentials but I can't leave this behind."
“Oh wow.”
Glenn had known such a picture existed, remembering years prior in which Michonne had helped Carl seize the picture from King County for thought of one day gifting it to Judith. It wasn’t until staring down at the wrinkled photograph that he’d realized how long ago that’d even been. Until staring down at the almost completely faded picture that Lori had become something of a distant memory. She wasn’t forgotten, especially with her two children and Rick apart of Glenn’s day to day, but sometimes their past got buried under everything that they’d gone through. Glenn reached out, his fingers barely wrapping around the sides of the gloss as his lips drew together in a line.
“Your mom. I almost forgot what she-”
It was hard not to think of the one photograph he’d held close to him for a short while, the picture he’d taken on Maggie in which she’d burned shortly after. He remembered how precious that picture had been to him, though he’d thankfully had her with him as a daily reminder. Glenn couldn’t even fathom if he’d ever lose her, let alone not having a picture to trigger his memories in the cloudy world they lived in now. Nodding towards the photograph, Glenn’s eyes narrowed in on the younger girl with all the sincerity he could muster.
“This is essential. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.”
