Calling it homo familiaris care guide.
A lot of HDG influences but I hope it stands out enough. Honestly a lot of the ideas. Here are somewhat setting agnostic so feel free to use them. In other settings.
So I started my first job last night. I'm doing concessions at our hockey arena downtown. Sold out crowd. Well anyway, so I started out being a 'backup' which meant I was paired with a cashier and grabbed stuff from either the window or the warmer or wherever I needed to grab it from and hand it to the customer. I loved that job. And then I was moved. They moved me to 'the funnel cake cart' which wasn't terrible, it just wasn't my thing. I couldn't get anything to go my way and literally every single time something big would happen would be when the concessions supervisor walked by, meaning she was constantly getting on to me. Add to it that earlier this week my grandfather was in the hospital for an unknown reason, I've basically had a near constant headache for days because my glasses got broken, and I just found out that my best friend/sister was in the emergency room, again, for an unknown reason. I was ready to cry and tell her I was done. And then came the guy that I will forever be grateful for, someone I have labeled as 'hot funnel cake guy.' So how the 'cart' (it was really just a stand) worked was I had pre-made funnel cakes that I put in a small oven type thing to heat up. The oven could do four at a time. After they're heated up I put them in a warmer to keep them warm. So I've just had a small rush come through and I'm out of funnel cakes in the warmer. I've just stood up from putting four more cakes in the oven and a guy walks up, this is our conversation: Me: "hi, what can I do for you?" Guy: "hey, are you out of funnel cakes?" *points towards empty warmer* Me: "well I just put more in, I can have one for you in about four and a half minutes." Guy: "okay, thanks." *goes to walk away and then turns back to me* "Are they going to be hot when they come out?" Me: "yes sir." Guy: "oh shit yes I'll be back for this stuff. Thanks!" *walks away* Me: *doubles over in silent laughter before going about my business* Me, about five minutes later: *is getting the last funnel cake out of oven and putting in warmer. Stands up and sees guy.* "You had it timed perfectly!" Guy: *smiles and pays me. Stands quietly while I put powdered sugar on funnel cake.* Me: "There you go. Thank you." Guy: *takes plate, feels how warm the bottom of plate is while using other hand to get a bit of funnel cake. Moans in delight as he chews hot cake* "this is the way to a man's heart; hot funnel cake!" Me: *laughs* "I like the way you think!" So that, that is the story of hot funnel cake guy. The guy who brightened my otherwise crappy first night ever of working.
