not that i can remember.. does it come across that way 😅

✍ Do you have a beta reader?

not currently. i’ve never had one before haha so i don’t quite know what it’s like. getting one who’s also in this fandom sounds challenging but i think that it may be something i should look into for my kaitui postcanon fic since i’ve never written a murder mystery before!! but to be honest knowing myself i probably won’t have the motivation to do the legwork..

i write a lot of AUs which cater directly to myself and i think that's very neat👍 i love AUs

🙋‍♀️ Do any irl people know you write fanfic?

yes ahdhs i actually have two or three friends who know exactly what i’m writing and where to find me!! one of those three has had the unfortunate fate of sitting directly next to me when i came up w the priest au and the ballboy au (+ maybe a couple of others? but i have very clear memories of those) 🤚 she was even there back when i was freaking out abt all the chasing spring revisions i had to do lol ///not to vagueblog but we mayyy be hearing more from her sometime soon!!!

🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?

when it’s finished and posted aka when i am satisfied with it! that means it’s conveyed all i want it to convey and that i’ve done my best by it ^^ it’s also v rewarding to receive comments and the like, but i wouldn’t base my sense of success off of that alone.

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction? 

taking ‘fanfiction’ here to mean ‘rpf (of c ent musician zhou shen charlie)’, and the answer would definitely have to be his and hu mengzhou’s 调查中 performance!! i was in the early stages of another fic (which i’m probably not going to be able to go back to) (for reasons unrelated to my rpf病), watched the performance, felt like i was going to throw up, and had springtime animals finished in about a fortnight. i don’t know, something was up with the number of closeups of his open mouth during that performance…

🥤 ⇢ recommend an author or fanfic you love

with a healthy dose of trepidation, i’d reccommend MARIAyu’s 萍水. this fic has one of the best zs characterisations i’ve ever read!!! unfortunately, MARIAyu uses that for evil!!!! every time it updates i feel a very very very intimate sort of terror but it is just an incredible piece of writing

lately, i’ve finally had time to go out with friends! and i’m making good progress on my current multichap + going to see zs in shenzhen this december

🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

hmmmm excluding non-rpf works, i wouldn’t say i’ve gotten up to anything incredibly weird? i did a lot of excess research into zs' music conservatory in L’viv for chasing spring, including into his living accomodations/fellow students, though! and used basically none of it 😑

🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?

i really love getting ones from regulars!! the fact that i have regulars at all is still kind of wild to me; i never expected any of the sort when i published that first hmz/zs fic. i’m so happy that we’ve found each other!!!

commenters who quote parts of the fic that they liked are also my favourite (like you!). it’s the sort of feedback practically every author would kill for, you know?? i love love love hearing the specifics of what people enjoyed

☁️ ⇢ what made you choose your username?

at some point before deanoning, i realised that i should really sign all my works off with something. so everyone would know they were mine, you know? ahdhahs not that there were any other writers publishing in english alongside me at the time 😅😅 anyway, HH is a reference to my xhs handle! since i couldn’t think of anything better :pensive:

however, by complete coincidence (it was such a mad dash to get tickets that i only checked on their exact specs after buying them), i ended up sitting in row HH when i went to see zs in sydney this year! was it the universe okaying my rpf career???? honestly, these things keep happening…
