I forgot about the scars on his back g o d. But absolutely yes to everything you said - and if both their chronic pains start to flare up around the same time, they just take it easy and help each other deal with it as best they can while doing just enough to help but not too much that they accidentally manage to exacerbate their own pains in the process. Just helping each other try and manage their pain enough to feel Okay enough
