Chapter one, part one: where it began

Sunny Smith, the only daughter of Raphaël and Camille, is also the only sister of her older brother, Léo, and younger brother, Teddy Smith. All members of her family were born and raised in France; they were a perfect family...Well, sure, sometimes Raphaël would drink too much, Camille would get home from work too late, Léo and Sunny would fight too much, and little Teddy would cry too much. But putting all that aside, everything was perfect! Well, it was perfect, perfect, until Camille and Raphaël started arguing about money. When Sunny was four, she didn't pay much mind to it at first, mostly because Léo made Sunny and Teddy go into his room "to play". But one faithful day when a drunken Raphaël started an argument with Camille, it eventually got so heated that after finding out his wife was having an affair, Raphaël slapped Camille. After that, she packed her stuff and left, not even saying goodbye. It's like she didn't care that she left her children with a horrible man; Camille didn't even call or say goodbye... But ever since Camille left, their "perfect" family wasn't anything close to perfect. At first, it was just Raphël yelling at Sunny for stupid stuff, really, like not picking up her toys or sleeping in a bit too late. And it was only Sunny getting treated this way as well; Léo stayed up so late and woke up in the late afternoon, and Teddy would cry all night as well! So why was it only Sunny getting mistreated?

As Sunny grew older, everything just got worse. When she was six, her dad started drinking more, which led to more outbursts. One night it hit so bad that he hit her... From then on, he kept doing it; Raphël wouldn't stop. Not even when she was 15, and he hit her so hard it gave her a black eye for weeks; she had to lie to her counselor that she had just fallen. But on that day her father hit her.. She found something that took her mind off everything: her dad's alcohol stash. I mean, Sunny now understood why her father liked drinking so much! At first she really didn't know what she was getting herself into, but once she started she couldn't stop. It was constant that she was drinking, and on top of that.. Sunny started hurting herself as well. Most nights, Raphël would come home and immediately pass out on the couch. This used to be such a relief for her, but... Sunny got so used to being hurt; it felt weird when she wasn't. Well, that was half of the reason why. The other half of the reason she hurt herself was because of Camille... She was only four when she left, but every day her father hit her because she left, because she was a no-good bitch just like her father said she was... And also, she looked exactly like her. Looking in the mirror was like a curse to Sunny; it just wasn't fair.

One fateful day, when Sunny was 16, all the karma caught up to Raphël. Because he had gotten caught stealing company assets, he got arrested, blah, blah, blah. And before you know it, Teddy and Sunny were in custody of Léo, who was now 20! It wasn't the best choice for Sunny; it was better than living with her grandmother, and they were moving to the U.S! There, Sunny hoped to get better. But nothing had changed.

Unfortunately I haven’t the first clue on how to work this blog 100% yet.

An introduction would also be nice. My name is Ondine and I like to write. That’s kind of covering all the necessary bases for now. I’m not a great writer but I shall live and learn. I already have some fics / blurbs written down, I just have nowhere to publish them (purely for funsies) so hopefully this is what this blog will be:)))

I don’t belong to a specific fandom as I like everything in the world. Currently hyper fixating on The Pitt and Dr. Jack Abbot (God bless) so that’s where I’ll start.

I’m writing all of this and for all i know like a total of 2 people are going to read this but to be fair I am doing this mostly for my own entertainment, all other interactions ALWAYS welcome and encouraged though !!!!!!!!!!
