#gently how it feels to train a new Dom and watch them awaken to exactly what they can do
Possibly a bit nosy, but, what does training a Dom entail?

For me, training a top or Dom/me is like twaching any other skill. It starts with creating a shared language for communication, learning hard and soft skills, and endless introspection and debriefing. I tailor all of my mentorship to my mentee and I follow the pace and boundaries they set while also learning when, where, and how to push them.
My current scene top (who I'm training to hopefully be my Dom/me) and I have been playing consistently for the last 8 months or so. When were apart, we have check-ins every two weeks during which we discuss how our headspaces have been, how our long distance dynamic has felt, and then we explore a topic or two we decided on during the previous check in. Usually it's a deep dive into one or two areas of kink and any kinky media we've interacted with. If we have a trip coming up, we discuss any preparation and theory craft a scene or two. Then I get my homework, what do I need to prepare before the next check-in. When we are together, we practice what we've discussed. We play and have open communication about how we are in the moment. We grow and build from there.
With my current scene bottom/switch (who i hope to have as my Sub and Hound at some point in the next few years), we play it a lot looser. She's new to her submission and is still learning how to relax into it. So instead of long conversations about how submission feels and how to prepare it, I work her down into subspace with commands and offer her no place to thing. No more than 15-20 minutes and then I ask her 2-3 simple multiple choice questions and 1-2 open ended questions. Usually something like, "I noticed X this time, is that because of A or B, or was it something else?" and "Tell me how your body felt this time; where did your mind go?"
The only wrong way to train as a Domme in my opinion is to do so in a way that squashes your curiosity and reduces your respect for an communication with your scene bottoms/subs.
