ridiculous late night/early morning lore thoughts

so in looking for a good way to introduce a Midlander who was wrongly branded something and sent away from a homeland, i started going through the Final Fantasy wikia for any outlying area info. what i found got me thinking:

"Dravania is an inaccessible region of Eorzea in Final Fantasy XIV. It is marked on the map in Eorzean northwest of Coerthas and directly north of Vylbrand.

now, lemme bring out what i'm focusing on here:

so, it got me thinking: we saw in the 2.3 ending cinematic the Archbishop in Ishgard being flanked by a couple of Ascians (Lahabrea and Elidibus) - what if, either they're pulling strings for Ishgard to instigate war with the Dravanians to wipe out the Circle of Knowing and the Students of Baldesion, OR what if there's some Ascians on both sides attempting to instigate war to wipe them out?

considering Urianger and Minfilia's research after the events in 2.2 and the event with the Sahagins, the Ascians probably have seen the Circle of Knowing (and then by proxy the Scions/Path) as enemies - those who can destroy them and stop the resurrection of their god Zodiark. without those in the Scions, and by default, the Circle, there to stop their plans to bring back Zodiark, there would be nothing standing in their way.

i can't recall if it's said how long Ishgard has been at war with the Dravanians, but even if it's not a recent thing (or recent-ish) it could still be feasible. I'M LIKELY WRONG IN ALL OF THIS, but it's an interesting thought i had.
