staying at the western air temple was rough for aang. he liked being in a familiar place, but it also just reminded him of what he lost. sleeping there the first night was hard and, to be honest, he didn't sleep.
aang went and sat outside, watching the sunset forlornly and trying not to cry.
staying at the western air temple was oddly familiar for teo. it was different than the northern air temple, but it was similar enough that it made him homesick and it made him miss his dad and the life he had before.
teo also went and sat outside with the intent of watching the sunset, something he and his dad would do when he was young. he saw aang and they sat next to each other.
they sat in silence for awhile, just breathing.
then eventually, aang says "the sky is pretty" and teo agrees.
then teo admits that he misses his dad already and he misses the northern air temple because that was his home for so long and aang says that he misses his culture and his people and being so close yet so far away from it is confusing.
then there's silence again until teo asks aang if he wants to look at the sunset from up high and aang "hm?" and teo says "sometimes when i feel down, i glide in the air and watch the sunset from the sky"
and aang perks up and teo still has his wheel glider and aang has his new glider so they take off and glide throughout the night, admiring the pinks and oranges and purples
and suddenly they both felt a little less alone
