2015 ⇛ 2016
2015 had been a great year for me honestly. It was a year filled with nothing but fond memories and amazing experiences. I can safely say its by far the best year of my life, there were more happy things than unhappy issues, and its also the year I turned 21. I also felt that I have grown and changed for the better. 1. Studies I ended my second year of university with a pretty decent grade (given I skipped the first year), although it was not as great as I expect, but I am satisfied enough. I worked and tried my best, and I know that's good enough. Then I started the third and final year of uni. I am very pleased to share the news that I have been doing well, achieving first (>70) for a few assignments. This boosts my confidence and also motivates me to do even better! And also, I managed to get the research project that I am interested in, I am really thrilled and will defo continue to work hard ☺ 2. Adulthood I am finally 21! Yet another step closer to adulthood! I feel that I am pretty much quite into adulthood already after going to uni, mainly because I make my own meals and do my own laundry and housechores. Feel more adult-like after moving into our own house, because there are more things to be taken care of, like the bills, TV license and wifi etc. It defo a good training - to be more independent and responsible. So that’s great. I pretty much have lots of freedom and get to make my own decision even before I am 21 (thanks to my very kind and open-minded parents), that don’t change much really. 3. Family & Friends I was definitely great to be back home for 3 months over summer, I am very glad and grateful to be able to spend time with all my close ones! 3 months was definitely a good amount of time, not too long or too short, just enough for everyone! If not you’ll probably gonna get sick of me, haha! I am also really glad that my friendship remains the same with all my friends, despite being away for so long, and sometimes not keeping in contact frequent. So, a big thanks to all my amazing friends!! I was very happy to go back to my hometown in Malaysia and spent time with my cousins & relatives, its really hard for everyone to get together as we grow older because we are all occupied with different things, so it was really awesome to be back and just have a very laid-back lifestyle! My family also had lots of fun from celebrating SG50, to prawning, to USS & staycation, grateful to be able to spend quality time and make amazing memories together! :’) It was also great that I am really close and good friends with many of my friends here in Newcastle, I know many of my friends were worried I might not meet nice people, but no worries at all! So glad to be such good friend with them (they make me feel less homesick)! 4. Travelling Travelled quite a lot this year too. London (Jan & Dec), Amsterdam (March, my first solo trip), Bangkok (July), Edinburgh (Nov), Berlin (Dec) and York (Dec)! I really really love travelling so much (well, who doesn’t!) and I am just so glad to be able to go to different places, experience the different culture, understand the history and make interesting memories! “The world is a book and those who don't travel read only a page.” This can’t be anymore truer; I just hope to travel more while I have the energy and time! Want to make memories and footprints all around the world! :D 5. Self 2015 Resolutions - To be a better person ✓ - To maintain a healthy lifestyle ✓ - Work even harder for my studies ✓ - Be more appreciative & grateful ✓ - To stay genuinely happy & positive ✓ Very proud to say that I’ve achieved my resolutions! I have become someone with a bigger heart and more patiences. I have been cooking and eating healthily (some friends said I slimed down, well thank you!) My hard work also did paid off for my assignments (hooray!). I did try to express my gratitude more and let people know how I feel towards that, so I think I did well? Lastly, I’ve been just really happy, I honestly can’t remember any sad/angry moments I’ve had, actually I do, but they don’t bother me really. I did well, haven’t I! :D :D 2015 Goals - To learn driving - To travel around Europe ✓ - Achieve 1st class Hons ✓? - Make fond memories ✓ - Save money - Get involved in voluntary work✓ Well well, bad timing this year to learn driving, so that will probably be on my 2016 goals instead haha! Travelled to Berlin, so that shall count! I did achieve >70 for some assignments but still not great enough to push my overall up. Nonetheless, I will aim towards that still! Definitely made lots of fond memories this year no doubt! :D Save money, guilty, but I haven’t really been able to do that, so I will work on that! Fighting! And also, I did took part in a few voluntary work, pat on my shoulder! hehe!! In conclusion for myself, as I’ve mentioned, I really do feel and think that I grow a lot as a person. I learned to be more kind and positive, and I also learn not to care about what other people think of me anymore really. This year has just been great. I am in good health (mental & physical), my family are healthy and doing well too (even if I am not around), sis is excelling in her job too. And all my friends are doing their best in their life as well! So yeah, thank you 2015, you have been such an awesome year, and I look forward to 2016 :)
