You wake up, snuggling with Eden. She’s awake, scrolling on her phone. “Hey,” you say softly, tugging on her sleeve. “Yes?” “Can we go shopping?” Her eyebrow raised, she answered; “of course, sunshine.”

Walking through the mall, you look at all the stores, wondering which one you should go into first. Your hand is locked with Eden’s, and you’re swinging them softly. You walk into a store, Eden barely keeping up behind you. Looking through the clothes, you spot jeans that you like. Eden looks over, commenting; “That would look amazing on you.” You blush softly and grab the fabric before going to a changing room, Eden waits outside.

You switch into the jeans and step out. They hug your body shape just right, flattering your hips while being flared on the bottom. Eden smiles softly. “You look amazing, sweetie.” She says, her smile reserved for your eyes only.

“I don’t think it looks good…” You say, looking down and judging your body. You wish you had more/less curves, or a better waist, or— “Hey.” Eden says, standing close. She cups your cheek in her hand. “You look good. Don’t overthink it.” You lean into her touch as she leans in and presses a soft kiss to your lips. You pull apart and you blush, biting your lip as you look up at her. “Will you buy it for me?” You look up at her, “Obviously.” She says.

Su makes a deal with The Consciousness. Show It the multitude of possibilities in the sea, and in turn, It shall give him the truth he seeks.

Millenia spent alone, watching world after world through the eyes of other Su's, all with only the company of a god which does not understand humanity? It grates. It's terribly lonely. It will be worth it if only the humanity survives- if the others survive.

In this world, they were never made for happy endings.

It comes to the surprise to absolutely no one that Otto Apocalypse throws everything tits up not even three weeks after their meeting. Su watches as the entire mess that is Kolosten blows up from behind a computer screen. Einstein and Tesla spend the majority of the operation either word vomiting into the microphone or screaming or a combination of both.

Su watches Otto make his choice, listens to way too much of a villain’s monologue, and when everything is over, he takes off his headset and closes his eyes.

It’d be funny, if it weren’t so sad, how the current era likes to parallel the previous era so much. It’s a tale as old as time, really. Character A loved and then died. Character B is desperate to bring them back. And so everything goes nose down straight into hell.

His own story, with characters named Kevin and Dr. MEI, was nowhere near as clean cut, Su thinks. For a group of geniuses, they were all just a bunch of idiots throwing spaghetti at a wall to see what stuck, trying to save each other and damning each other in the process.

Otto Apocalypse dies on his own terms. Su may dislike him something fierce, but he can’t help but be a bit envious of that- to be so selfish you’d gladly risk dooming the entire world for a single person. Su’s too much of a good person for that, and sometimes, it tears him apart from the inside out.
