A refreshing and floral cooler made with hibiscus tea, perfect for hot summer days. The addition of lemon juice adds a tangy twist, while optional alcohol makes it a delightful cocktail for gatherings.
Ingredients: 4 cups water. 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers. 1/4 cup honey or sweetener of choice. 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice. Ice cubes. Optional: 1-2 ounces vodka or rum per serving.
Instructions: Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Take it off the heat and add the hibiscus flowers. Let them steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Take out the hibiscus flowers and mix in the honey or sugar until it dissolves. Let the tea cool to room temperature, then put it in the fridge to get cold. Add fresh lemon juice and mix well. Put ice cubes in glasses and pour hibiscus tea over them to serve. To make it alcoholic, pour 1-2 ounces of vodka or rum into each glass before adding the tea.
