in the manga Dororo is not a “play it safe” kind of person. In fact he gets hurt, or gets hurt more than he would otherwise, because he antagonizes whole group of adults at once. That’s a trait he shares with his dad, who actually died because he antagonized a group of nobles (the 2019 anime made him more reasonable, but to be quite frank I think that in regard to Dororo’s backstory the anime did a shitty job).
